 Switcher Now

August 20, 2026

Streaming a service sounds like it requires a media team and a real budget. It doesn't. Here's what actually matters if you're thinking about it.

## 1. You don't need a media team, just a phone and a stand

Most first streams use exactly one phone on a $15 stand. That's a complete setup, not a starter version of a better one. If your service has one thing worth watching, the pulpit, the front of the room, one camera pointed at it is the right amount of equipment. Nothing about starting requires more than that.

## 2. Nobody has to run it during the service

This is the part people misunderstand most. Switcher Now asks for the time of a device, not the time of a person. Someone sets the phone on a stand before the service starts, taps Go Live, and that's the entire job. Nobody stands next to it, watches it, or manages it while the service is happening. If your tradition already prefers that nobody operates equipment once a service begins, this is exactly why that's still possible.

## 3. Turn off auto-lock before you go live

This is the single most avoidable way a stream fails, and it has nothing to do with signal or equipment. A phone's screen locks from inactivity, or someone taps out of the browser tab to check a text, and the camera pauses the same way a dead battery would. Before every service, set your screen timeout to "Never" for the duration of the stream. It takes ten seconds and prevents the most common cause of a dropped camera.

## 4. It's a private link, not a public feed

Nothing about a Switcher Now stream goes into an algorithm or a public timeline. You get a private watch link, and only the people you share it with can open it. No stranger scrolling by, no unrelated content playing before or after, no public comments. Your congregation gets exactly what you send them, nothing more.

## 5. The replay matters as much as the live moment

Once a service ends, the recording stays at the same link for 30 days automatically. Anyone who couldn't watch live, someone in a different time zone, someone who missed the notification, can still watch the whole thing whenever they're able to. You don't have to re-upload or re-share anything.

## 6. With more than one camera, your congregation chooses their own view

One camera is a complete setup on its own, but if you add a second, something changes. Instead of everyone watching whatever a director decided to point at, each person watching picks their own camera themselves, live, and can switch whenever they want. Someone who wants the pulpit stays on the pulpit. Someone who wants the choir picks that instead. Nobody is choosing for them, including you.

## 7. Run a Rehearse before your first real service

A Rehearse is a private practice stream that nobody else can see. Run one from the actual spot you'll be streaming from, not just anywhere, so you can catch a weak signal or a bad angle before it's live in front of your congregation. It takes about five minutes and it's the only way to know your setup actually works in your specific space.

## 8. You only pay for the services you stream

Switcher Now is free to start. After that, it's $19 per service or $49 a month if you're streaming regularly, and you can switch or cancel anytime. There's no equipment to buy beyond a basic phone stand, and no subscription running in the background on the weeks you don't stream.
